ScanPay

Use case: Access Gate Control

Sell unattended gate access 24/7.

A rider arrives at Otaki Farm, scans the gate QR code, and pays $25 by card or mobile wallet. ScanPay confirms the payment, delivers the configured ticket or access code, and gives the owner a live record of who paid.

Fixed day pass

Charge one clear $25 price for one rider and one day.

Multi-day access

Offer one, two, or three riding days from the same QR payment page.

Group rider access

Use quantity controls to calculate a group booking at $25 per rider, per day.

Receipts after payment

Show a receipt webpage, send an email receipt, or provide both. Riders can download a PDF copy for their records.

Scannable QR tickets and access codes

After successful payment, issue a QR ticket that a warden can validate on the trail or gate staff can scan and activate. Configure one-time redemption, a limited number of scans, or validation until expiry. Fixed gate access codes can be rotated daily in ScanPay to prevent unpaid reuse.

Live access payments and device notifications

Successful payments appear on a live dashboard and can trigger high-priority alerts with sound. Owners and staff can see the amount, pass, rider reference, ticket status, and time paid.

Custom gate access pages

Add Otaki Farm branding, a gate image, payment button colour, riding instructions, GST details, receipt messages, and terms that riders must accept before payment.

Gate, trail, and partner tracking

Create named tracking links and QR codes for the main gate, separate trails, signs, or promotional partners. Attribute revenue and optional affiliate commissions to each source.

Frequently asked questions

How does QR payment for farm gate access work?

Display a printed ScanPay QR code at the gate. A rider scans it, opens the Otaki Farm payment page, pays the $25 day fee, and receives the configured ticket or access instructions. The successful payment appears in ScanPay immediately.

Do I need an EFTPOS terminal or a staff member at the gate?

No. Riders complete payment on their own phone using a supported card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, so an outdoor EFTPOS terminal and continuously staffed entrance are not required.

Can I sell more than one day or passes for several riders?

Yes. Offer a fixed $25 one-day pass, predefined options for several riding days, or a quantity-based group booking at $25 per rider per day.

Can a pass expire or be limited to one use?

Yes. Configure one-time entry, a limited number of scans, or repeated validation until a set expiry time.

Can ScanPay open an automatic gate?

ScanPay can issue a fixed access code or QR ticket. A compatible gate controller can also receive successful-payment data through a secured webhook, but the physical hardware must support that integration.

Where does the rider payment go?

Payments are processed directly through the seller's connected Stripe merchant account. ScanPay does not collect or hold the rider payment.
