ScanPay

Use case: Donations & Community Payments

Accept donations instantly, without cash or an EFTPOS terminal.

Place a ScanPay QR code in a church, at a school BBQ, beside a busker, or anywhere the community contributes. Supporters choose an amount, add their name or reference and receipt email, then pay on their own device.

Cashless donations without staff handling money

Supporters complete payment on their own supported device using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a card. Volunteers can confirm the donation without using cash, an EFTPOS terminal, Stripe, or the organisation bank account.

Buyer-entered amount, name or reference, and receipt email

Use one reusable donation page for different contribution amounts. Ask for the supporter's name or custom reference and collect an email address for receipt delivery.

QR payments across the community

ScanPay supports churches and religious venues, school BBQs, buskers and performers, charity collectors, community gardens, halls, fundraisers, workshops, and community events.

Receipt webpage, email, and PDF

Show a receipt immediately, email a copy to the supporter, or provide both. The receipt records the organisation, amount, reference, and payment details.

Live donation dashboards and device alerts

Successful payments appear with the amount, name or reference, time, and paid status. A high-priority notification with sound can alert owners or volunteers on a supported phone or tablet.

Named tracking codes for collectors and locations

Create named QR codes for individual collectors, school groups, entrances, campaign signs, or community locations while retaining one underlying payment page.

Optional tickets for community entry

When a payment includes entry to a community garden, hall, event, workshop, or restricted area, the ticketing add-on can issue a QR ticket, validation pass, or access code after successful payment.

Frequently asked questions

How do QR code donations work with ScanPay?

A supporter scans the printed QR code, enters the amount they want to give, adds their name or reference and receipt email, then pays on their own device. The successful donation appears in ScanPay immediately.

Do volunteers need to handle the payment?

No. The supporter completes payment on their own phone using a supported card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Volunteers can confirm the successful donation without touching cash or an EFTPOS terminal.

Can a donor choose their own amount?

Yes. A buyer-entered amount page lets each person decide how much to contribute. Organisations can also create fixed donation amounts or suggested options.

Can we collect a donor name, reference, and email address?

Yes. The payment page can request a name or custom reference and collect an email address for receipt delivery. These details stay attached to the transaction.

Can ScanPay be used at several collection points?

Yes. Named tracking QR codes can identify a collector, stall, noticeboard, entrance, or campaign location while using the same payment page.

Can a payment include entry to a garden, hall, or event?

Yes. The optional ticketing add-on can issue a QR ticket, reusable validation pass, or access code after successful payment.

Where does the donation money go?

Payments are processed directly through the organisation's connected Stripe merchant account. ScanPay does not collect or hold the donation.
